The recommended dose of Zomig is 1 2. 5 mg tablet and a second dose can be taken at least 2 hours after the first dose, if symptoms return within 24 hours. In some cases, especially those where the 2. 5 mg dose is not effective, your doctor may recommend a higher dose of 5 mg.
Efficacy occurs approximately one hour after tablet administration, and orodispersible tablets have a faster effect.
The main side effects of Zomig include dizziness, headache, tingling, drowsiness, palpitations, abdominal pain, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, weight loss, increased heart rate or increased need to urinate.
Zomig is contraindicated in people who are hypersensitive to the components of the formula and should not be used by people with uncontrolled high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease or who suffer from contraction of the coronary vessels.
Furthermore, it is also not recommended for pregnant women, nursing mothers, or children under the age of 18.
