How to use Prolia is to take a 60 mg syringe, given once every 6 months, in a single injection under the skin.

Side effects of Prolia may include: pain when urinating, respiratory infection, pain and tingling in the lower extremities, constipation, allergic skin reaction, pain in the arm and leg, fever, vomiting, otitis or low calcium levels.

Prolia is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, allergy to latex, kidney problems or cancer, and should not be taken by people with low levels of calcium in the blood.

Patients who have undergone chemotherapy or radiation therapy should also not use this medicine.
