Potaba

Potaba is a medicine used to treat skin and muscle diseases, such as dermatomyositis or Peyronie’s disease, that helps make the skin more flexible and prevents the formation of fibrosis plaques. The active ingredient in Potaba is potassium P-aminobenzoate.

Potaba can be sold in tablet form and marketed by Glenwood GmbH’s laboratory.

  • Potaba is indicated for diseases such as scleroderma.
  • Dermatomyositis.
  • Morphic and linear scleroderma.
  • Pemphigus.
  • Peyronie’s disease and fibrosis.

The way to use Potaba is to take 12 g a day, divided into 4 or 6 times, after meals, according to your doctor’s advice. In children, the amount should be 220 mg of Potaba per kg of the child’s body weight, divided into 4 or 6 times, after meals.

Side effects of Potaba may include anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, redness, itching, headache and nervousness.

Potaba is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the formula, as well as in people taking sulfamide antibiotics, and is also indicated in pregnant or lactating women.
