The pentavalent vaccine should not be given to children over 7 years of age who have hypersensitivity to the components of the formula or who, after the previous dose, they have had a fever of more than 39 degrees Celsius within 48 hours of vaccination, seizures up to 72 hours after administration of the vaccine, circulatory collapse within 48 hours of administration of the vaccine or encephalopathy within 7 days.
This vaccine should be administered with caution to people with thrombocytopenia or bleeding disorders, as bleeding may occur after intramuscular administration, in these cases the doctor should administer the vaccine with a fine needle and then press for at least 2 minutes.
If the child has a moderate or severe acute febrile illness, vaccination should be postponed and vaccinated only when the symptoms of the illness have disappeared.
In people who are immunocompromised or who are taking immunosuppressive therapy or who take corticosteroids, they may have a reduced immune response.
