Monopril

Monopril is a drug whose active substance is phosphinopril.

This drug is an antihypertensive drug indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure, its action has a vasodilator effect, which decreases vessel resistance, improves circulation and keeps blood pressure stable.

Oral: Take medications before or after meals

Hypertension: Diuretic treatment should first be discontinued 2 to 3 days before starting treatment with this medicine, in order to reduce the risk of a sharp drop in pressure. Initial treatment should be performed by administering 10 mg of Monopril in a single daily intake. Maintenance doses can range from 20 to 40 mg, depending on the patient’s improvement.

Children 6 years and older weighing more than 50 kg

The starting dose should be 5 to 10 mg per day. The dose should be gradually increased until the desired effect is achieved, however, do not exceed 40 mg per day.
