Lorenzo oil is a dietary supplement made with glycerol trioleate and glycerol trierucate, which is used to treat adrenoleucodystrophy, a rare disease also known as Lorenzo’s disease.
Adrenoleucodystrophy is caused by the accumulation of very long-chain fatty acids in the brain and adrenal gland and causes demyelination of neurons.
