In hyperaldosteroneism, excessive amounts of aldosterone, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands, occur, eventually generating an insufficient amount of potassium, causing an increase in blood pressure.
Most of the time, this disease is the leading cause and occurs most often in women between the age of 30 and 50.
There are two types of hyperaldosteronism
Primary hyperaldosteronism: caused by a tumor of the adrenal gland,
Secondary hyperaldosteronism: caused by an increase in reinintion production.
Renin is an enzyme that regulates the entry and exit of blood into the kidneys.
The treatment of hyperaldosteronism is based on pressure control, the elimination of fluids by diuretic drugs and in case of tumor, their elimination.
