Postec is an ointment for the treatment of phymosis, which consists of the impossibility of exposing the gland, the terminal part of the penis, because the skin that coats it does not have enough opening. This treatment may last about 3 weeks, but the dose may vary depending on your doctor’s needs and instructions.
This ointment contains betamethasone valerate, a corticosteroid with a great anti-inflammatory effect and another substance called hyaluronidase, which is an enzyme that facilitates the entry of this corticosteroid into the skin.
- Postec can be purchased from a pharmacy for a price of approximately 80 to 110 reais.

Postec ointment can be used in people aged 1 to 30 years and should be applied twice daily, directly on the skin of the foreskin, for 3 consecutive weeks or according to medical advice.
To apply the ointment, you must first urinate, then wash and dry the genital area properly. It should then be pulled slightly back from excess skin, without causing pain, and apply the ointment to this area and up to half of the penis.
After the 7th day, pull the skin a little further back, but without causing any pain, and gently massage the area so that the ointment spreads completely and covers the whole area. The skin should then be placed under the acorn again.
Finally, you should wash your hands until you remove any traces of ointment, to avoid contact with the eyes.
Postec is generally well tolerated, but can increase blood flow to the site and cause irritation and burning, with burning and swelling.
Urinating immediately after using the ointment can be uncomfortable, cause burns, and therefore if the child is afraid to urinate for this reason, it is best to stop treatment because retaining urine is harmful to health.
Postec ointment is contraindicated in children under 1 year and in people hypersensitive to the components present in the formula.
