Tanaceto should not be used by people with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula or to other plants in the same family, such as chamomile or Santiago grass.
It should also not be used during pregnancy or lactation, nor should it be used in children under 12 years of age.
Adverse effects during treatment with tanacet include contact dermatitis, irritation and ulcers in the oral mucosa, diarrhea, excess intestinal gas, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and upset stomach with prolonged use.
