Symptoms of lack of biotin usually include hair loss, flaking and dry skin, mouth cornering, swelling and pain in the tongue, dry eyes, loss of appetite, fatigue and insomnia.
However, vitamin deficiency is rare and usually occurs only in hospitalized people who do not eat properly, in diabetic patients or on haemodialysis, and in pregnant women.
