Flucytopsin is an antifungal drug used to treat severe thrush. This medicine acts on fungi by altering the mechanism of action of the microorganism, weakening it and facilitating its elimination in the body.
Flucytopsin is an oral medicine.
- Flucytosis is indicated for the treatment of systemic thrush.
- Systemic fungi.
- Cryptococcus neoformans pneumonitis.
- Skin leishmaniasis and chromycosis.
The method of use of flucytopsin is to ingest 100 to 200 mg / kg per day, divided into 4 doses, every 6 hours, for 30 to 90 days.
In case of renal failure, doses should be reduced or the interval between them increased.
Side effects of flucyt may include anemia, diarrhea, lack of appetite, swelling, abdominal pain, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, mental confusion, hallucinations, headache, sedation and hearing loss.
Flucytopsin is contraindicated in pregnant or nursing women, children and people who are hypersensitive to one of the components of the formula.
