Chlofibrate is a drug used in cases of high cholesterol and triglycerides, which should be taken during meals, to help regulate levels of VLDL, LDL and triglycerides in the blood.
This drug can be purchased from conventional pharmacies in pill form, but only with a prescription.

The dose should be adapted by the doctor, depending on cholesterol and triglycerides, however, general recommendations indicate daily intake of 2 to 54 tablets of 400 mg, during or after meals.
The main side effects of clofibrate include nausea, vomiting, excessive gas, sore throat, stomach pain, diarrhea and muscle pain.
Clofibrate is contraindicated in pregnant women, lactating women, and patients with liver or kidney disease, and it should not be used in people allergic to clofibrate or any other component of the formula.
