Bexsero is a vaccine indicated for protection against meningococcal B – MenB, responsible for bacterial meningitis, in children from 2 months and adults up to 50 years of age.
Meningitis or meningococcal disease is a disease that causes symptoms such as fever, headache, nausea, vomiting or signs of inflammation of meninges, which more easily affect breastfed babies.
The doses indicated depend on the age of each patient and the following dosage is recommended:
Some of the side effects of Bexsero in breastfed babies may include changes in appetite, drowsiness, crying, seizures, paleness, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, irritability or allergic reactions at the injection site with redness, itching, swelling or local pain.
In adolescents, major side effects may include headache, discomfort, joint pain, nausea and pain, swelling and redness at the injection site.
This vaccine is indicated for pregnant or nursing women, children under 2 months of age and patients allergic to any of the ingredients of the formula.
