Atosiban is an active ingredient in a tocolytic drug known commercially as Tractocile.
This injectable drug is indicated for preterm birth because its action is to bind to oxytocin receptors, decreasing the frequency of contractions and tone of the uterine muscles.

Hypersensitivity to the product; gestational age less than 24 or greater than 33 full weeks; premature rupture of membranes with a gestational age of more than 30 weeks; intrauterine growth delay and abnormal fetal heart rate; intrauterine hemorrhage requiring immediate delivery; severe eclampsia and preeclampsia requiring childbirth; intrauterine fetal death; placenta previa; placental rupture conditions in which pregnancy continuity is dangerous for the mother or fetus.
