Aminophylline can be administered orally or by injection, for adults 600 to 1600 mg per day divided into 3 or 4 doses is recommended and for children older than 6 months 12 mg per kg of body weight per day divided into 3 or 4 doses . .
For injectable use, 240 to 480 mg, 1 to 2 times daily, are recommended intravenously for 5 to 10 minutes for adults.
